Art isn't about how quickly you can complete it.
But sometimes it's nice to have the option of creating a great-looking drawing or painting without having to commit hours upon hours of time. Some of my best works were completed in a few hours.
Working with smaller size studies, can help provide the balance between detail and loose sketching.
This is all about having some FUN and being as carefreeeeee as you like.
I am currently working on some new drawings on paper using different mediums and techniques. Some of the drawings were done on trips to the mountains or to the beach or from my studio. Here a few samples. See more on the Works on Paper page.
Though we do need rain in small doses, it was another beautiful winter day in paradise. This spot is just below Shoreline Park where I often take beach walks. This photo was taken close to the golden hour, a period before sunset during which daylight is redder and softer than when the sun is higher in the sky. I plan on coming back and painting this scene soon, another one to be added to my landscape collection. Stay tuned!...
