Working with Nature

I had the opportunity to take a trip up north last week and sketch outside of my studio.

It's a good practice to leave the studio space and spend time in nature exploring our surroundings. Looking at the vivid blues of the ocean to the raw and burnt sienna of the redwood trees, compelled me to do some more work outdoors.

This piece was painted a few years ago but it reminded me of some new directions for exploring more ways to work with nature, continue to explore mark making, and new try new techniques in painting.
